California, Pt. 1

We made it back safely. It was a good trip, but exhausting. The temperature rose to 100 while we were out there, so it was difficult to go out and do anything. I also found the sun to be very harsh there. I couldn't find any clouds out there!

Here are a few shots I took while on the airplane out.

I have too many to process right now and I'm tired. The flight was long last night and I didn't sleep. Over the next few days I'll post more of what I shot while out there.

I'm glad to be back!

Welcome back. I know I take a lot of photographs for just a weekend trip. I haven't gone on a full week vacation with my DSLR yet. I would probably be processing for a week afterwards.

JoJo, yes... I shot the kids! :D In fact, I think family pictures make up the bulk of the photos I took while we were there. I bought a remote for my camera so I could take some family portraits.

Craig... I don't know how many pictures I took, but I think they take up around 20Gb. I shoot in RAW+JPEG, so it's not that many... Perhaps 1,000 to 1,500. My photos are easy to process. They're either bad or pictures of the kids. :)

I had two problems out there.... Too much sun. Everything was either fully lit or fully in the shade. The other problem was my lens selection. I really couldn't shoot any good landscape photos out there, which is what I wanted to do. 50mm is the widest I can get right now. I'll remedy that soon with a Sigma 10-20mm lens. Hopefully I'll be able to order that in the next week or so.
